Day 4: the family bus and transit serendipidity
Kim and I had a parent conference with one of B's teachers on Friday afternoon (don't worry, he's not in trouble, it's all good). Good old #65 got us up to school (with Jeff sporting a Car-Free Challenge t-shirt!). Afterwards we walked down the hill (note to self: Marin is VERY steep, definitely best to bus up and walk down, not vice-versa) and (serendipidity #1) ran into Stuart biking home right past our bus stop!
As we waited for the bus, Jeff returned a call to his mom (who lives in downtown Berkeley). She happened to be home, so (serendipidity #2) we decided to meet for an ice cream cone in downtown Berkeley. Even with squirrelly sugar-pumped kids, we still took the #88 (all four of us PLUS Nana) for the last mile home.
Total we logged 26+ miles on buses & BART, and over 6 on foot. Car miles? Zero. Serendipidities? Two.
