Making the CFC both Science and Sport

The Science: Nathan went to the Lawrence Hall of Science today on a field trip from school -- two kindergarten classes filled a school bus. Nathan was excited to find that he could use baking soda and vinegar to make gas to fill up a balloon (see photo)! Kim came along as a chaperone -- she was particularly proud to have scheduled a work meeting there too, trip-chaining for a particularly tricky trip.

The Sport: Nathan to baseball practice -- fortunately, his practice is at Mosswood Park (MacArthur & Shafter), so the two-bus ride (#18 to #1) was more reasonable than yesterday's expedition to Montclair.

And the other "sport" is that with all his school bus miles, Nathan took the lead in the family's internal competition: who can claim the highest car-free to car mile ratio!
