Week One: Crap Week; Week Two:????
Well, last week was a challenge for real. All told I put 57.75 miles on. So, I am on track to stay under my limit. Of course, I didn't go across town at all. I discovered that the transit system here deserves its shoddy reputation. I dealt with sparse schedules and a routes that had changed.
I biked a LOT.
I'm hoping this is the week where I become a pro. Where everything falls into place and I discover that, once you get the hang of it, the bus system works great!
Maybe this week, on the rare occasion that I get into my car I won't hug the steering wheel and cry out, "Freedom! My car is freedom!"
A girl can dream.
P.S. My boyfriend wants to go to the beach this evening. So romantic, but it is 20 MILES AWAY!!!!!! yikes.

You can do it! I love your
I loved your very honest
I loved your very honest comment about your car... and it makes me think about while we are choosing to take on this challenge, for many people for whom driving a car isn't a choice. If you can't afford a car in the first place, public transportation isn't something noble - it's a lifeline to being able to make a living, get an education, get to the doctor... But that's part of my inspiration, too. When more of us taking public transportation and demand better walking and biking options, everyone from every background benefits. Everyone deserves to be able to meet their needs and improve their lives without necessarily having a car!
Keep up the awesome, funny, honest posts and inspiration!
