Challengers are a prolific and popular bunch!

With each new Car-Free Challenge story shared, the novel of our amazing movement and experience is written and read by many! Since the Challenge started 12 days ago, Challengers have posted over 275 blog entries. These postings have inspired over 360 comments creating a great conversation for those taking the Challenge and for the thousands visitors to the site we have witnessed over the last two weeks. The story of your Challenge is being followed by a huge audience, so please keep sharing!

Speaking of great postings, Rebecca S. has had an interesting Challenger week (particularly when she noticed her bus stop bench had been stolen), Nathan W. is feeling great about the possibility of lowering his mileage goal during his Challenge, and Colin H. had to be realistic in adjusting his goals after a run-in between his thumb and a knife (ouch!).

There once was a bus bench here!

Your daily dose of inspiring posts and quotes from the Challenger community:

  • Shannon T. is spreading the word about the Found Magazine event in Oakland next week, and astutely points out "[A]s far as I can tell, not a single submission has been FOUND by someone while driving a car."
  • Anne C. helped to reunite 2 lost dogs with their caregivers. You have to read her great story and marvel at how being in the right place at the right time gave this story a very happy ending!
  • "I know it's strange (and totally self indulgent) to blog about falling in love with a car on a site that's main focus talks about the light rail and how our new mass transit system helped me go carfree. However the experience today made me shake my head and realize how truly addicted we are to our cars." Tony A.
