Nearly 200 leading community organizations and advocates joined together in Sacramento for the second annual Transportation Choices Summit to ensure state policies and investments promote effective public transit, great walking and bicycling, and affordable homes. Over three days event participants:
- Learned about the hottest issues from leaders like the Secretary of Business, Transportation and Housing Brian Kelly and Air Resources Board Chair Mary Nichols as well as leading advocates like James Corless of Transportation for America
- Strategized about how to support key legislation and issues at the state level to put in place the policies and create the funding to build world-calss transit and prosperous communities
- Met with legislators and their staffs to urge their support for these priorities now and in the future
We're already beginning planning and building momentum for a bigger and better event in 2014. Now is the critical time to build an enduring and influential statewide movement for real transportation choices and healthy, economically prosperous communities for all Californians.
To keep up to date as we plan next year's event and continue our work at the state level sign up for our statewide transportation choices mailing list.
