Bus tour and talk on how Bus Rapid Transit can transform public transportation
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is revolutionizing bus service around the world with its dedicated lanes, state-of-the-art buses, and frequent service. Now, Bus Rapid Transit is coming to Santa Clara County! VTA is planning for BRT lines along the Alum Rock, El Camino, and Stevens Creek corridors and you have an opportunity to help shape them.
What: Come see what this new service will mean for local businesses, pedestrians, cyclists, bus riders, and the people who live near the future Bus Rapid Transit stops in a free bus tour along El Camino Real. The tour will feature a range of speakers and is hosted by VTA.
Afterwards, join TransForm staff for lunch and a lively discussion about Bus Rapid Transit’s potential in the South Bay and elsewhere as we work to bring world-class public transportation to the Bay Area and all of California. Light refreshments will be provided.
When: Saturday, October 22. Bus tour runs promptly from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The lunch discussion starts immediately after the tour.
Where: The tour will begin and end at the Palo Alto Transit Center. The lunch discussion will be just a few blocks away at Coconuts Caribbean Restaurant & Bar.
How: Please RSVP online by Friday, October 7. An RSVP is required to save your spot on the bus. The event (after the bus tour) is just $5, and free for TransForm supporters at the $40+ level.
