My Car Mileage Goal for the Challenge:
10
Donation Goal:
$ 500 I am very fortunate to be working at TransForm on amazing programs from Great Communities Collaborative to creating GreenTRIP. I get to work with inspiring people in all sectors, committed to “TransForm”-ing how we get around and “TransForm”-ing our options of where we can live without a car. That’s my day job.
During my off duty time as Mayor Pro Tem of El Cerrito, I plug away at “TransForm”-ing my home town into a more bicycle and pedestrian friendly place. My yard signs and campaign materials were in two shades of green and had bicycles all over them. I believe the people of El Cerrito spoke loudly in support of creating more viable options for getting around, when they voted me on to the City Council with the most votes in November, 2008.
Great grant funding opportunities like MTC’s TLC program and Safe Routes to Transit benefit many cities and exist because of TransForm’s tireless work that started over 10 years ago. Programs like these are essential building blocks for making the “TransForm”
-ation to more walkable, transit rich and equitable communities achievable.
If you can’t take the car free challenge this year, you can still provide critical support to TransForm for the work needed to speed up and keep up the “TransForm”-ation. Please pledge your support for me in reaching my fundraising goal of $500 and your name will live on in Ann Cheng’s Car Free Challenge Hall of Fame!
