As Communications Director, Edie oversees TransForm's print and online communications, media relations, branding, and messaging. She comes to TransForm with more than 12 years of experience in communications, outreach, policy advocacy, and political organizing.
Most recently Edie was the communications manager for the Social Transformation Project, a leadership development organization working to improve collaboration among progressive leaders and organizations. Prior to that she did outreach for StopWaste promoting energy efficiency home upgrades and Alameda County's Reusable Bag Ordinance. As the Communications Director for the Institute for College Access & Success, Edie was an expert on student debt and federal student loan repayment policy. She has also worked as an independent communications consultant to nonprofits and socially responsible businesses.
Edie is a Bay Area native and has been growing food and raising chickens in Oakland for most of the last 10 years. She is an avid gardener, singer, cook, cyclist, and community organizer. Transit options from her home in the hills of East Oakland are limited, but the long bicycle commute is invigorating. Edie has a bachelor's degree from Barnard College.
