Development and Database Coordinator
Garrett serves as the Development and Database Coordinator, supporting TransForm’s program teams by building capacity via fundraising and technology solutions. He is excited to be a part of the TransForm team as it works to advocate for transit and housing solutions from a socially equitable perspective.
He is proud to have worked for more inclusive and pluralistic societies at a number of nonprofits prior to working at TransForm. Garrett served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Strive for College, a Milpitas-based nonprofit that works to expand college readiness for students from low-income families, worked at Ballotpedia, an open-politics project of the Lucy Burns Institute, and survived a stint as a field organizer in 2016. He has also had the privilege of interning with an assortment of nonprofits, including the Philadelphia Education Fund and the Center for Policy Studies at Central European University.
Born in West Virginia, raised by Michiganders in New Orleans, with a B.A. in Political Science from Grinnell College in Iowa and a M.S. in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, Garrett is pleased to complete the United States regional bingo card here in Oakland. He enjoys traveling and, upon reaching a new place, looks forward to walking around, reading, and listening to learn more about local communities and their histories.
