Safe Routes to Schools Program Manager

 Terry is the Safe Routes to Schools Program Manager at TransForm.  He joined TransForm to help improve the well-being of communities, with a particular interest in educating low-income communities about the importance of getting to school in a healthy and environmentally-friendly way, and inspiring students achieve their best personal and academic potential.

He is a native Spanish bilingual and bicultural public policy professional specializing in urban and social policy design, management, and implementation. Prior joining TransForm he served as a Special Liaison for the Latino community for U.S. Congressman George Miller in Contra Costa County, and has ample experience working for nonprofits and community based organizations in the Bay Area.

Terry is originally from Mexico and has lived in the East Bay for over two decades. He holds a Master of International Affairs Degree in Urban and Social Policy from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from U.C. Berkeley.
