Parking Revolution/Housing Solution: How to help win more housing and make it more affordable
The housing crisis is daunting, yet over the next year, we can make key policy changes that deliver cascading benefits for housing, equity, and the climate.
For decades, cities have required excessive amounts of parking. Large garages and parking lots have driven up the cost of housing, reduced the space available for homes, stores, and green space, and generated more traffic and pollution.
In July, TransForm released Parking Revolution/Housing Solution, a report outlining how dozens of cities are now reevaluating these outdated parking mandates to meet state housing targets. Beginning in October, TransForm will be hosting a series of webinars to give advocates, planners, and developers the tools they need to advance this vital movement.
