See TransForm in action

TransForm had some exciting opportunities in the last couple of months to share our impact and vision on a variety of topics, from how to ensure transit recovers from the pandemic to how our Mobility Hubs at Affordable Housing pilot project amplifies community voices in the decision-making that affects them.

Since all such events are virtual these days, many of them have been recorded and made available to the general public. Below we've embedded video recordings about a handful of these events where you can see our perspectives on creating change, including those of our new Executive Director Darnell Grisby, in action.

Jamario Jackson spoke on the panel, Advancing Equity through Agency Actions at Lake Arrowhead, an event presented by the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies.

What is the role of transportation agencies in the pursuit of equity and justice? The panel included perspectives from a very large agency, a board member at a transit agency with a large police force, and TransForm as the model of a non-profit partnering with agencies and cities to augment their internal capacity to advance equity.

Speakers included:

  • KeAndra Cylear Dodds, Executive Officer for Race and Equity, LA Metro
  • Lateefah Simon, President, BART Board of Directors
  • Jamario Jackson, Senior Community Planner, TransForm

Darnell Grisby spoke on the panel, Not Back to Normal: Transit's Path to Recovery at Lake Arrowhead, UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies.

Panel description: Transit thrives on density. It’s most effective in serving mobility needs in corridors where a concentration of places to live, work, and play means higher trip demand and densely packed vehicles. This density is the antithesis of public health measures to control the spread of COVID-19. The pandemic has affected transit demand, supply, funding, management, and politics. What is transit’s path forward to recovery?

Speakers included:

  • Brian D. Taylor, Professor, UCLA ITS
  • Phil Washington, CEO, LA Metro
  • Darnell Grisby, Executive Director, TransForm
