Guest blogger: Regional Director, Greenbelt Alliance
Michele is the Regional Director for Greenbelt Alliance, a key TransForm ally working to protect the Bay Area's open spaces and make sure cities grow in a way that creates great neighborhoods for everyone. Michele is a San Mateo County native and has been working to protect open space lands and create livable communities in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties since 2004. Prior to that, Michele spent four years as a homelessness and affordable housing advocate in Contra Costa County and spent two years with the Peace Corps in West Africa, supporting community-based eco-tourism enterprises. Michele’s love for the Bay Area’s natural beauty took shape as a fifth grader visiting Jones Gulch and was solidified during early morning rowing sessions out of the Redwood City port and Briones Reservoir. She holds a degree in Business Administration from St. Mary’s College of California. Michele currently serves on the board of the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County and volunteers as a Big Sister to a cool twelve year old named Alise.
