Sheila (she/her, they/them) is a Site Coordinator for Alameda County’s Safe Routes to School program. Previously Sheila was Clean Water Action CA’s first Environmental Justice organizer.
She is passionate about shifting away from a car-dependant culture and believes that empowering communities is one of the best ways to activate this change and all change! These are reasons why Sheila is excited to be on the SR2S team, helping create more safe and accessible communities.
Sheila was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California. They moved to San Francisco in 2006 to attend San Francisco State University, where they received a BA in Environmental Studies with an emphasis on Environmental Sustainability and Social Justice.
In their free time, Sheila likes reading and watching sci-fi and fantasy media, cuddling with their cat, laughing at memes, and spending time with loved ones (preferably outdoors).
